The Pineapple Thief, one of the most prominent progressive rock bands of the last decades, will play in Finland this spring.
The Pineapple Thief, led by singer-songwriter Bruce Soord, will treat Finns to new music. The "It Leads To This" album from 2024, which was successful on the UK album charts, was followed by the "Last To Run" EP in late 2024. The new CD release, which clocks in at just over 20 minutes, was originally written in the same sessions as its predecessor. However, the songs left off the full-length album have since evolved and grown into a whole of their own," comments the band's primus motor Bruce Soord: "We had some difficult decisions to make when deciding on the final track listing for It Leads To This. The songs on this EP are based on songs and ideas from those sessions but they have since evolved way beyond what we would have imagined at the time. We are delighted with the result - it really seems capture a different mood and sound"
Formed in Yeovil in 1999, The Pineapple Thief have released well over a dozen albums, six EPs and numerous live releases during their extensive career. Constantly pushing the boundaries of progressive rock throughout their career, the band has built up a loyal and passionate fan base. The live line-up of singer-guitarist Bruce Soord, bassist Jon Sykes, keyboardist Steve Kitch and drummer Gavin Harrison takes audiences on a captivating journey through The Pineapple Thief's extensive catalogue.
The Pineapple Thief will play an extra-long set in Tampere without any warm-up bands.
